    The Narrow Window

    In a rapidly escalating security crisis, the government of a NATO member state must take a position under severe time pressure. Information is incomplete, allies are not fully aligned, and every decision – as well as delay – may carry further consequences. Participants act as the prime minister’s national security adviser, weighing the need for deterrence, the preservation of alliance cohesion, the risk of escalation, and the consequences of delay.
